Let us take an illustration to know the significators for all the 12 houses in the following horoscope of Sri KSK:
1st house:
10th degree of Capricorn rises over 1st house. Is there any planet? Yes. Moon is in it, now see whether there is any planet in the stars of Moon or either rahu/kethu in the signs of Moon. Moon and Mars are in the star of Moon (sravana and hastha respectively). Rahu or Kethu are not in the signs owned by them. Therefore Moon and Mars are strong significators for 1st house. So place them under “A” and also in column “B” as Moon is occupant.
Now see for any planet in the star of 1st house owner Saturn. Only Saturn is in the star of Saturn (Utharabhadra). No node is in the signs of Saturn but Kethu was aspected by Saturn. Therefore it will share the results of 1st house. If there is any planet in the stars of Kethu, then it will transmit its significations to that planet. Only Kethu is in the star of Kethu (Moola). Therefore place Saturn and Kethu in column “C” and column “D”.
In this way we have to analyse for each and every house.
2nd house:
13th degree of Aquarius rises over 2nd house. Saturn is in this house (eventhough Saturn is in Pisces it is within the 2nd and 3rd cuspual points, hence deemed to be in 2nd house). Look for planets in the stars of Saturn. Only Saturn is in the star of Saturn. As said earlier, Kethu is connected with Saturn. Both should be noted in A and B. look for planets in the stars of Saturn as he is the owner of 2nd house. As said above, again Saturn and Kethu will come up. Note Saturn and Kethu in C and D also.
3rd house:
Pisces on 3rd house. None in this house, so no planet can be noted in column A and B. see for planets in the stars of Jupiter the house lord. Kethu is in the sign Sagittarius owned by Jupiter. Therefore it will represent the significations of 3rd house. Planets in the stars of Jupiter and Kethu will be strong significators. No planets in the stars of Jupiter whereas Kethu alone in Moola star. Therefore Kethu and Jupiter are the only sigificators for 3rd house.
4th house :
Aries rises on 4th house owned by Mars. None in this house as occupant. Therefore planets in the stars of Mars are the strong significators. Only Rahu is in the star of Mars (Mrigasira). Kethu was aspected by Mars! Therefore Kethu will become significator too. Therefore Rahu, Kethu are stronger than Mars. Place them in C and Mars the house lord in D.
5th house:
Taurus rises over this house owned by Venus. Rahu is in this house. Sun and Mercury are in the star of Rahu (swathi). So they should be under A and Rahu will be under B. Note planets in the stars of Venus. Only Jupiter is in the star of Venus (Pubba). Look for Rahu or Kethu in the signs of Jupiter. Kethu is in the sign of Jupiter. Therefore include Kethu as stronger significator than Jupiter! Place them in column C and Venus under D.
6th house:
Gemini rises over it owned by Mercury. No planet in this house. Rahu is representing Mercury by being in its sign. Therefore there are no planets to place under columns A and B. Look for planets in the stars of Rahu then Mercury. Sun and Mercury are in the star of Rahu. No planet in the stars of Mercury! Place them in column C and Mercury and Rahu under column D.
7th house:
Cancer rises over 7th house owned by Moon. No planet in this house. Moon and Mars are in the stars of Moon. Therefore Moon and Mars are significators for 7th house. So place them under C and only Moon under column D.
8th house:
Leo rises over 8th house owned by Sun but occupied by Jupiter and Venus (Venus shifts into this house even it is in Virgo). Note planes in the stars of Jupiter and Venus. Kethu is representing Jupiter. Jupiter is in the star of Venus. No planet in the stars of Jupiter. Therefore place Kethu and Jupiter under A, Jupiter, Venus and Kethu under B. See for planets in the stars of Sun the 8th lord. Only Venus is in the star of Sun (Utharaphalguni). Place her under C and Sun under D.
9th house:
Virgo rises over 9th house owned by Mercury, but Mars, Sun and Mercury are occupants for this house. Rahu is in the star of Mars whereas Ketu was aspected by Mars. No planet in the stars of Mercury but Rahu is sharing the results of Mercury. Thus Sun and Mercury in the star of Rahu will gain strength. Venus is in the star of Sun. therefore Venus, Rahu, Kethu, Sun and Mercury will be under A. Sun, Mercury, Mars and Rahu under B. Sun and Mercury will be in C as they are in the star of Rahu who represents the 9th lord Mercry. Lastly Mercury and Rahu should be in column D.
10th house:
Libra rises over this house owned by Venus. No planets in this house as occupants. So consider planets in the stars of Venus. We find only Jupiter in the star of Venus but Kethu is representing it. Hence no planet will be A and B. Jupiter and Kethu in C whereas Venus will be in D.
11th house:
Scorpio rises over this house owned by Mars. Kethu is occupant of this house. Kethu alone in its star Moola, therefore it will become strongest for 11th house. Then Rahu in the star of 11th lord Mars will come. Kethu again appears as it shares the results of 11th lord Mars through aspect. Hence Kethi and Rahu will appear in C and Mars as well as Kethu in D.
12th house:
Sagittarius rises over 12th house owned by Jupiter. No planet in this house. Therefore planets in the stars of Jupiter and Kethu are strong. No planet is in the star of Jupiter but Kethu is in its own star. Therefore Ketrhu is strongest for 12th house and should be in C whereas Jupiter will be in D.
