Meaning of Namaste
Namaste is originally a Sanskrit word which means, namah + te = namaste which means “I bow to you” – my greetings, salutations to you. The another literal interpretation of the word “Na maha” means not mine which also means to negate and nullify one’s ego.
Spiritual Connection
The main reason why we Indians always do Namaste holds a deep spiritual connection and significance. The foundation of Namaste lies in the spiritual view that God is within us, we are one with the god. The same God resides in us and everyone.

Significance of Namaste In Prayers
Namaste is not only done to greet a person, it is also used to offer prayers and worshipping in Hinduism. This physical gesture is known my many names such as “Jai Shree Krishna”, “Ram Ram”, “Jai SiyaRam”, “Namo Narayana”.
Such is the importance and signifance of Namaste in Hinduism. “Namaste.”
