Karva chauth<\/strong> \u2013 Married women observe fast from sunrise to moonrise for the longevity of their husbands. They end their fast by worshiping the moon. Unmarried girls too can observe this fast in order to get a desired husband. They end their fast by seeing a star. The fast is nirjala that is not even a drop of water should be consumed.<\/p>\n

Sawan<\/strong> \u2013 month is the fifth month according to the Hindu calendar. It is considered as the holiest month dedicated to Lord Shiva. Your fast will be incomplete without listening the story behind this fast. Unmarried women keep fasts to get a suitable husband for themselves and married ones for longevity and protection of their households.<\/p>\n

Teej<\/strong> \u2013 is the monsoon festivals. It is of 3 types namely Haryali Teej, Kajari Teej and Hartalika Teej. The festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva nd Goddess Parvati union. Married women observe fasts to get blessings from the two for the well being of their husbands.<\/p>\n

Shoonya Shayan Vrat \u2013 <\/strong>The fast is observed on the 2nd<\/sup> day of Shukla paksha in the month of Shravan. Keeping this fast gives longevity. Both husbands and wives can observe. The day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. Worship their idol and fast for 4 months to seek the blessings of long life of the partner for 3 lives.<\/p>\n

16 Mondays <\/strong>\u2013 Mondays are dedicated to Lord Shiva. Unmarried women who keep fasts on 16 Mondays are able to get a suitable husband for themselves and married ones for safety and protection of their households. Women Fast and end by eating kheer at night. Next day they make an idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with rice and worship. Next day they donate the idol to Brahmins.<\/p>\n

Vat Purnima<\/strong> \u2013 Purnima means full moon and it is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the jyeshtha month that is June in the Hindu calendar. On this auspicious day, married women worship banyan tree for the prosperity and longevity of their husbands. It is done in due respect to Savitri, the legend wife who protected her husband from the God of death, Yama.<\/p>\n

Vat Savitri<\/strong> \u2013 is celebrated on Amavasya of jyeshtha month which is no moon day in the Purnimanta calender . The festival coincides with Shani Jayanti. The rituals and procedure is same as Vat Purnima festival.<\/p>\n

Guru Nanak Jayanti<\/strong> \u2013 Many married women observe fasts on this day to seek blessings from the almighty for the longevity of their husbands. The fast is nirjala that is not even a drop of water should be consumed.<\/p>\n

Janamashtami<\/strong> \u2013 is the Birthday of Lord Krishna. Women end at 12 in the night after worshiping Lord Krishna and moon.
\nRambhaa (Gauree) Vrat <\/strong>\u2013 is observed from sunrise till sunset on the 3rd<\/sup> day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha. The day is dedicated to Goddess Sita. Worship Sita\u2019s idol and donate it to a Brahman couple after ending the fast. The fast is observed for good fortune, husband like Lord Rama and happy married life.<\/p>\n

Ashok Vrat <\/strong>\u2013 The fast is observed on the 1st<\/sup> day of Shukla paksha in the Aashwin month. Women observe this fast in order to become beloved to their husbands.
